Out of Vogue is a cool little place to find anything from a unique Eames or Wegner chair to an old record. You remember records, right??? Check it out. Mike and Pam Atta, owners, are more than willing to talk shop and they are extremely knowledgable. There is a reason why set decorators from "Mad Men" found this store to be their "go-to".
Out of Vogue is on Commonwealth just east of Harbor Blvd. on the North side of the street. Don't blink, you might miss this gem. (By the way, check out Otto right next door while you're there)
Another "can't miss" place is CityLife in Brea. Most of my own home is furnished with their pieces. Very hip, cool, modern pieces. You can find the modern with little updated and unique twists to them. I love to just go in there and look around and get inspired.
CityLife is on Imperial Hwy. west of the Brea Mall on the South side of the street in the shopping center with Lamps Plus and David's Bridal.
